Landgate recently completed its first five years of operation as a statutory authority under its enabling legislation – the Land Information Authority Act 2006.
Landgate is required to review the effectiveness of the Act's operations at the end of every five year period.
In the course of this review, the Hon Brendon Grylls MLA, Minister for Lands, will consider the effectiveness of the operations of the Authority; the need for the continuation of the functions of the Authority; and any other matters the Minister considers being relevant to the operation and effectiveness of the Act.
Mr George McCullagh has been appointed by the Minister for Lands as the Chairman of the Review Committee. Mr McCullagh has extensive experience in conducting similar reviews for other government entities and has worked as a senior executive in both the public and private sectors.
Consultation with key industry stakeholders will be undertaken as part of the review. Stakeholders should direct their feedback to relevant industry peak bodies who will submit any input to Landgate.
A report will be submitted to the Minister for tabling in Parliament by the end of the year.
