Landgate's September 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP), released today, shows a four-year high for first quarter document lodgement figures.
Total document lodgements from July 2014 to September 2014 were 89,526.
The total number of documents lodged in September 2014 (28,560) decreased by 5.02 per cent when compared to the previous month (30,068) but increased by 5.10 per cent when compared to September 2013 (27,174).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said while the decrease in total document lodgements for September was a seasonal trend, the Electronic Advice of Sale (EAS) figures were encouraging.
"The EAS figures, which are an indicator from the property sector of potential sales, increased by 3.08 per cent in September," said Mr Bradford.
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the property market in Western Australia.
The September 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
