Landgate's January 2014 Business Activity Profile (BAP), released today, reports the highest total document lodgement figures for a January since the 2009/10 financial year.
The total number of documents lodged in January 2014 (27,093) increased by 19.2% when compared to the same time last year and represented an increase of 1.64% when compared to January 2010 (26,656).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said there had been continued improvement in monthly lodgements when compared to the same month over the past three financial years.
"The significance of this January's lodgements is that they have peaked above the last recorded high for a January which was in 2010. The figures also support the opinion from property experts that there is continuing growth in the market," Mr Bradford said.
The January 2014 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the daily average of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
