Gone are the days when Landgate’s country valuers had to load up their suitcases with piles of maps and paperwork in order to get the job done.
Today they are armed with one very important piece of equipment – an iPad!
The introduction of ipads is the result of a successful trial, known as e-Valuation, carried out through Landgate’s Innovation Program.
The project has gone from strength to strength since receiving Landgate’s Innovation of the Year Award earlier his year. It was also nominated for the WA Spatial Excellence Awards in September 2015.
There are currently approximately 70 valuers using the iPads with great success.
It is particularly helpful when they are out in the field as it helps with remote access as well as having capacity to store and readily access important information.
The introduction of the iPads has significantly reduced the reliance on paper and at the same time improved work practices.
Landgate’s Innovation Team was thrilled to see the transformation of an idea, originally posted on its Innovation Forum, become a reality.
The e-Valuation project is also an example of the important role innovation plays in challenging the way things have always been done in order to improve the efficiency of Landgate’s processes.
