Landgate has joined members of the Aboriginal community and the City of Swan in celebrations to mark NAIDOC week.
The event at the Midland Oval included Welcome to Country and Raising of Flags ceremonies as well as entertainment, food and refreshments.
NAIDOC stands for the National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee. This year's theme is 'We all Stand on Sacred Ground: Learn, Respect and Celebrate' which highlights Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' strong spiritual and cultural connection to land and sea.
Landgate's Acting Chief Executive Andrew Fernandez said NAIDOC was a significant event on the organisation's calendar.
"It aligns to Landgate's values to recognise and celebrate the contribution Aboriginal Australians bring to our workplace and community," Mr Fernandez told the gathering.
"Today is an opportunity for us to pay our respect to country and acknowledge those who work to preserve culture by listening to their shared stories of sacred and significant sites in our community.
"Landgate acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners of our country.
"Throughout Landgate's history, we have had a strong connection to the land we know as Western Australia."
Mr Fernandez said Landgate had a strong commitment to the Midland community and the agency prided itself on its Reconciliation Action Plan.
"Under the plan, Landgate provides Indigenous Australians opportunities through our Aboriginal Employment Strategy initiatives and Work Development Program," he said.
"Landgate is proud to continue sponsoring the Midland community's NAIDOC celebrations."
