Landgate's July 2015 Business Activity Profile (BAP) reports an increase in subdivision activity compared to the previous month.
The total number of new lots created in July 2015 was 3251, a 39.95 per cent increase from the previous month (2,323) and a 16.73 per cent increase from July 2014 (2785).
This was represented by a slight increase in strata lots (1179) and higher subdivision activity (2072).
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said the figures were typical for the beginning of the financial year.
"In June, strata and subdivision activity was down so this was a natural correction," Mr Bradford said.
There were 6414 transfer documents lodged in July 2015, 23.76 per cent fewer than the previous month (8413) and 11.3 per cent fewer than July 2014 (7228).
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The July BAP 2015 is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
