The Western Australian property market improved in December, with Landgate’s Business Activity Profile (BAP) recording the highest number of monthly document lodgements since August 2015.
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said despite the rise, December’s figures were not high enough to buoy the 2015/16 half-year result (167,549), which was the lowest since 2011/12 (150,665).
“The half-year result was eight per cent lower than last financial year’s half-year figures,” Mr Bradford said.
The BAP also shows the lowest level of property activity in a second quarter for four years.
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The December BAP 2015 is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
