Local innovators working on solutions for the agricultural, mining and information technology sectors are set to share in almost $100,000 in State Government grants.
Eight businesses, including a number of start-ups, have been awarded SPURonWA grants to move their innovative location-based projects forward and launch their ideas to market.
Under the guidance of SPUR, the technology hub powered by Landgate, the grants will help the start-ups to accelerate their innovative location-based solutions.
Projects to receive grants include an online trading platform for buying, selling and managing water licences; a website to assist customers with browsing products in brick-and-mortar stores; a vine mapper to help vineyards monitor their crop; and the world's first decentralised super-map of the world, which will be built on blockchain technology.
Other recipients include start-ups working on location-based solutions for the collection and sharing of autonomous aerial data, and improving accuracy of location data underground.
The grants allow entrepreneurs with projects in a variety of stages of development to fund vital elements of their ventures, including platform development, market plans, product development, components for prototypes, legal and marketing services and software engineering.
