Landgate will be celebrating its commitment to equality this International Women’s Day by paying tribute to all the women who contribute to the success of the agency, including several outstanding female leaders – all of whom are the first to hold important statutory offices in Western Australia.
Last year Landgate’s Dione Bilick became Western Australia’s first female Surveyor-General – a position that has existed since the beginning of the Swan River Colony in 1829. Dione joins Registrar of Titles, Jean Villani, and Commissioner of Titles, Susan Dukes – both of whom are the first women to hold those offices in Western Australia.
“As a statutory authority, Landgate shares the WA Government’s commitment to equality and diversity especially in the public sector,” said Jodi Cant, Chief Executive of Landgate - the first women to hold that position.
“Our female workplace participation rate is above the public sector average and we actively encourage the professional development of our people regardless of their gender. We’re committed to supporting diversity and equality at all levels of our organisation – our Board is 75 per cent female, including our Chair, Caroline de Mori,” said Ms Cant.
For 21 years, Landgate has celebrated International Women’s Day hosting a breakfast for local community and business leaders in Midland and the Swan Valley Region.
“We’re a proud part of the Midland community, and will always champion the women making significant contributions to this region – especially our own employees,” said Ms Cant.
