As advised in CIB 392 last November, Duplicate Certificates of Title will no longer be used from August 2023.This is part of the changes made by the Transfer of Land Amendment Act 2022 and brings WA in line with ongoing advancements in electronic conveyancing around Australia.
A range of resources are now available on the Landgate website to help explain what this change means for our customers and the general public.
Resources include:
* Animated explainer video and transcript
* Factsheet
* Frequently Asked Questions
* Webpage content
In addition, a webinar will be held later in the year.
More information about the webinar and the specific date the change will take effect will be communicated through our customer information bulletins and on the Landgate website.
Industry groups with an upcoming event who would like us to present on the changes can email us at TLA.Amendments@landgate.wa.gov.au.
Anyone with feedback or questions not covered in the above material is encouraged to contact us via the TLA email address above.
We also encourage you to follow our Facebook and LinkedIn pages for timely information about this change.
Please note: Current registration requirements continue to apply for all documents lodged until the changes take effect.
