Calling all Requisition Portal users!
Landgate has recently developed and deployed the Requisition Portal, which will now be used for all requisitions where originally signed evidence is not required to be provided.
Previously, evidence and payment of fees were forwarded to Landgate via email. We are now streamlining this process by allowing you to action these tasks directly through the Requisition Portal. Using the secure portal to electronically upload the required supporting evidence means stopped documents can be processed significantly faster than submitting this information via email.
We value your feedback and as such, we encourage you to complete a short survey to help inform future enhancements aimed at improving the user experience. The survey will remain open until 20 May 2024 and can be accessed on the Requisition Portal webpage.
The webpage also features more information including a comprehensive User Guide and Frequently Asked Questions.
How can you help to improve document turn around times?
We’ve recently observed an increase in turnaround times, impacting our customers. To streamline our services and enhance your experience, we are implementing measures to improve the examination and registration of documents.
We would like to emphasise the importance of correctly completing documents prior to lodgement. To assist you with this process, we have resources available such as the Lodgement acceptability checklist and Lodgement acceptability guide. These tools will help ensure your documents are ready for lodgement.
For documents that cannot be lodged electronically, they may be lodged in paper format at either our Midland or Perth Office, or they can be posted to Landgate. Customers lodging documents via post are requested to complete the Landgate Postal Lodgement Cover Sheet and include details of their method of payment.
To determine if your document is eligible for electronic lodgement, please refer to the list available in the E-Conveyancing Toolkit. If you have any questions or need further clarification on whether a document is eligible, please email dealings@landgate.wa.gov.au
Residual documents offer benefits
Don’t forget that documents such as leases, applications and transfers of mortgage can be lodged electronically.
Benefits of using residual documents include streamlining the lodgement process, reducing document errors and allowing for faster registration.
More than 60 documents are available to electronically prepare and lodge in PEXA with a full list available at Residual Documents.
Compliance extension in effect for strata manager new qualifications
As of 1 May 2024, phase one of the legislative changes to create a stronger educational model for WA’s strata management industry came into effect.
It delivered amendments to the Strata Titles (General) Regulations 2019 to extend the transitional period for strata managers to comply with WA’s education qualifications by six months, shifting it from 1 May 2024 to 1 November 2024.
Phase two amendments will deliver the new educational model in full and provide a further extension of the revised transitional period. Timing of these changes will be advised by Landgate during an upcoming public consultation, with full details on each amendment available at Landgate’s strata reform web page.
