Our geodetic system provides positioning solutions anytime, anywhere in Western Australia. It also enables alignment of spatial information with the Australian Geospatial Reference System (AGRS).
We provide and mantain geodetic infrastructure to support the surveying and spatial industries. Find out about Geodesy at Landgate, our role, services, and strategy.
Major services provided by Landgate include:
-
Horizontal datumLearn more about horizontal datum, a reference frame or geodetic system consisting of physical marks on the ground, a database of survey observations, as well as accurate coordinates of the physical marks.
-
Vertical datumLearn more about vertical datum, a reference surface of zero elevation to which heights are referred to.
-
Survey mark informationLandgate maintains approximately 65,000 geodetic marks installed across Western Australia and the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) islands, established under the Standard Survey Marks Act 1924.
-
