About the program
Landgate’s SPUR Location Grants Program is designed to leverage the state’s location information and deliver value to the land sector. It’s a collaborative Western Australian (WA) Government initiative and is delivered together with partner agencies.
Meet our 2022 SPUR Location Grant recipients
Three applicants across two categories were each awarded $25,000 grant funding in the 2022 round.
The two successful applicants in the General Grant category demonstrated how their proposal is innovative and explained how it leverages the State’s location information and delivers value to the land sector.
The one successful applicant in the First Nations Grant category demonstrated how their project is culturally significant and explained how it uses place-based information to deliver value to the land sector.

What the 2022 program offered
Funding
$25,000 in grant funding was allocated to 3 successful recipients.
Networking
As well as receiving financial support, successful recipients attend targeted information sessions delivered by Landgate and partnering agencies. The sessions provide valuable networking opportunities and assistance to engage with WA Government agencies and gain access to data and procurement processes. Previous cohorts consistently identified networking among the most valuable program components.
Categories and funded activities
The 2022 SPUR Location Grants Program featured two categories, and each one was designed to fund specified activities.
General Grant
Applicants in this category demonstrate their proposal is innovative and explain how it leverages the State's location information and delivers value to the land sector. This could be through:
- data management and modelling
- information sharing and collaboration
- improved operational efficiency (e.g. process automation)
- emerging digital technologies (e.g. digital twin or smart city capability).
First Nations Grant
Applicants in this category demonstrate their project is culturally significant and explain how it uses place-based information to deliver value to the land sector. This could be through:
- cultural mapping activities
- ranger programs
- on-country programs
- other areas of interest specific to Aboriginal-Owned Corporations.
